Ruxton Design Corporation has provided surveying services as both a prime consultant to the Maryland Mass Transit Administration (MTA), Department of Transportation (DOT) and as a sub-consultant to local engineering firms designing projects for Baltimore City‘s Department of Transportation and for Baltimore City‘s Bureau of Water and Waste Water.
The DOT projects were many and varied ranging from our conducting classes in “Advanced Surveying Techniques” for the benefit of the Resident Engineers of the MTA, staking-out new substation facilities, performing as-built surveys and boundary surveys and the laying out of roads and structures.
For Baltimore City’s Department of Transportation, our work included the determination of roadway elevations for highway reconstruction projects along with comprehensive topographic surveys, many of which were in some very high profile areas in Baltimore City.
Our work for the Bureau of Water and Waste Water for Baltimore City consisted of conducting boundary and topographic surveys for proposed, new pumping stations and the determination of the elevations and coordinates - using our own in-house, state-of -the art GPS RTK (Real Time Kinematic) technology and personnel - for approximately 5,000 existing manholes.
